Mitsubishi Raider stops the existence

The Japanese company of Mitsubishi has made decision not to develop further manufacture of pickup Raider because of falling of sales. Mitsubishi Raider 2010 modeling years become the last in the history of model.

Not a secret that in States has seriously pulled about a segment of pickups last year. So, Mitsubishi decision will get rid of the unprofitable car, is quite natural. Will soon stop the existence pickup Raider which is slightly modified Dodge Dakota.

Mitsubishi Raider is the second pickup which the Japanese company sold in the USA. To 1996 Mitsubishi Mighty Max model here was on sale. This year in States it is possible to name sales Raider the present failure. Only 2935 pickups have found to themselves owners. It on 64,5 % is less, than last year. Recession of sales has begun much earlier. In February, 2006 492 cars have been sold. Already then have started to speak about a possible failure. In North American compartment of Mitsubishi Motors similar forecasts have rejected, declaring that the increase in encouragements to dealers will increase sales, and in some months manufacture can already renew. But even the big awards for dealers from 3000 dollars for each sold car couldn't rescue Raider from falling of sales. Besides its competitor Dakota cost on pair thousand dollars more cheaply at identical technical characteristics. Its sales were many times over above, than at Raider. But nevertheless the Japanese company has decided to risk the second time. Despite unfavourable forecasts on sales lineup Mitsubishi Raider of 2009 have decided to update in all three variants: with standard, one-and-a-half and double cabins. The system of injection and an exhaust manifold with the changed form have been finished. Except base six-step mechanical transmission, the four-stage automatic became accessible. Also the front suspension has been finished, new gas-filled absorbers are established.

Owing to sharp recession of sales of Mitsubishi plans to reconsider the North American lineup thoroughly in the near future. Clearly one - the Japanese motor-car manufacturer won't exhaust here a new pickup. Instead the company will concentrate on manufacture of compact cars.
